Another Finish

Well, I still have not completed the second turban for my friend, but I have finished a lovely blanket (another one!)
I'm really pleased with it:

It is yet to be blocked, so that will improve it somewhat, and hopefully make it the right size.

The yarn I used was Zambezzi from Lincraft and it was gorgeous to work with - so soft and yummy...the colours are really pretty.

The pattern is Anya from the ebook, Lace Love by Lisa Gutierrez, and was very easy to follow.  You can download it from Ravelry, for a small fee.

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. I'm going to do another one soon, this one may live in the car I think.

I hope you like it too.

Good Things Finished

Some items I have just finished :

I played with this little bird, following Attic 24's instructions

The hat, scarf and cowl are finished, just need to be wrapped for my friend tomorrow
I call the hat a Flapper hat. because it looks like one on!

Just finished this blanket also - a nice granny stripe,

I quite like the colours in it

Do you like the edging i put on it?  I played around with stitches and came up with these leaves and flowers.

Now I am about to start crocheting a cotton cancer turban for another friend who is losing her hair from chemo. She should be able to wear the cotton through the warmer months and I have already made a woollen one for her (forgot to take a pic too!) not that it matters..

Freeform Friday

Thanks for joining me on the freeform Friday! Glad to see you!

There's not much for me to write today, I have been busy crocheting a blanket, and trying to write the patterns for the hat and cowl that I previously promised!

I will get them done.

So I thought i would show you some work from Prudence Mapstone.

Her  work is so colourful and exciting!

And as I think " you can't have enough bling!" She uses lots of sparkly threads and they just add that certain something to her work

I love all of the bullion stitches in the above picture - they are such fun to do, once you are shown.

So come on, join in and show what you have done:

Honeycomb Cowl

As my scarf and hat looked so small for my soon to be holidaying friend, I decided to add a cowl to the mix

Shows the pattern on the cowl - pattern coming soon

the hat has been folded wrong - but it has a little turned back brim

the two together - I just have to make a bow type brooch out of this yarn, and it will be able to be added to any of the items

Freeform Friday

Welcome to Freeform Friday again!!

I'm glad you are here!

Today, I thought I would show you some freeform books, just in case you are becoming more interested and would like to know more.

Apart from our own wonderful Prudence Mapstone, she is also available on Etsy, Pinterest and also on  Ravelry.

She is a very busy girl, our prudence and of course her books are second to none. Unfortunately, I have loaned my copies to a friend, so I can't show them to you tonight!

But of course, there are other books that are also very interesting, such as Renate Kirkpatrick's "Freeform Crochet and Beyond"

Renate takes you through how to scrumble, exercises to do

She explains making bags and clothing, and gives some patterns at the back of her book:

Then there is Jenny Dowde, and her "Freeform Knitting and Crochet".  Jenny is also on Ravelry

Jenny's book is also laid out as usual, with patterns for clothing and other items

and she continues with ideas for practice.

So if you are interested, I highly recommend getting yur hands on these books and working through them - you will not regret it, I promise.

So now, on with the Linky List!
